Here we are going to demonstrate how to use Laptops as a modem or a WIFI device by creating hosted network, generally known as  Hotspot.

We use command prompt to create a hotspot. (Note: every time you type the code hit the Enter button)

Step 1: First of all start command prompt (cmd) in administrative mode.

Step 2: In cmd type this code to check whether your device support hosted network or not.

netsh wlan show driver

If you see “Yes” on hosted network supported then you can create hosted network (if there is “No” please contact your laptop service provider).

Step 3: In cmd type this code to set hosted network.

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=test key=12345678

(ssid and key are the hosted network’s name and password which can be changed at any time)

Step 4: In cmd type this code to start hosted network.

netsh wlan start hostednetwork

Now your hosted network has been created and started.

Step 5: Now you have to share your active internet connection with your hosted network.

Open Network and sharing center and click on the network you are currently connected.
